V60 Information

NEW YORK, NY (April 18, 2019) The all-new Volvo V60 wagon has been named one of the Wards 10 Best Interiors of 2019 by the editors at WardsAuto, a leading source of automotive intelligence.

Each year, the Wards 10 Best Interiors list recognizes the industry's top interior designs available. Wards' editors look at every new or significantly redesigned interior with a focus on fit-and-finish, ergonomics, materials, comfort and aesthetics. For 2019, 32 nominees were considered.

"In the Volvo V60 sport wagon, what's old is new again as the Swedish brand expertly weaves an upholstered plaid interior that is visually stunning, environmentally friendly and uniquely European. But beyond the fabric, the V60 shines as the interior achieves a soothing sense of design harmony with soft-touch surfaces complemented by glistening hard trim. We felt this way three years ago about the larger XC90 CUV when it made the Wards 10 Best Interiors list and ushered in Volvo's new interior design language. We can't wait to see the next interior homerun from Gothenburg."

The Volvo V60, offered with the company's new city-weave textile interior, is the latest torchbearer in a long line of versatile Volvo cars. The V60 shares its Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) platform with the award-winning XC60 (named 2018 North American Utility of the Year and 2018 World Car of the Year), S60 sedan, and four top-of-the-line 90 Series cars, which have been the collective force behind the company's record-breaking global sales performance in recent years.

The five-passenger V60 is available with either a 250 horsepower Front-Wheel-Drive, or a 316 horsepower All-Wheel-Drive Drive-E powertrain. Each has an eight-speed automatic transmission. The V60 also has one of the largest load compartments, with clever storage solutions that make life less complicated. The V60 also touts as standard a number of key interior elements, such as a panoramic moonroof, aluminium inlays, and the award-winning Sensus Connect touchscreen interface.

V60 Cross Country Edition Announced - Sept 25, 2018

Like its V60 sibling that was launched earlier this year on the driveway of a Stockholm villa, the V60 Cross Country personifies the versatile Swedish family crossover utility vehicle. To that profile, it adds the capability on and off the beaten track that has defined Volvo's Cross Country range since its introduction in 1997, taking the V60 from the suburb to the skogen (Swedish for forest).

"With the new V60 Cross Country, we take our Swedish family estate from one natural habitat to another," said Håkan Samuelsson, president and chief executive of Volvo Cars. "We invented the Cross Country segment over 20 years ago and with this car, we reinforce our long-standing pedigree in safe, capable and versatile family cars."

Ground clearance for the V60 Cross Country is up to 3 inches higher than the regular V60, thanks to the specially developed Cross Country chassis and suspension that enhance the car's off-road capability. All-wheel-drive is standard on the new V60 Cross Country, as are Hill Descent Control, Electronic Stability Control, Corner Traction Control and a special Off-Road driving mode.

Like its 60 Series and 90 Series stablemates, the new V60 Cross Country benefits from Volvo Cars' award-winning Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) platform, safety technology and infotainment system.

Volvo Cars' award-winning City Safety with Autobrake is fitted as standard and assists the driver in avoiding potential collisions. It is the only system on the market to help recognise pedestrians, cyclists and large animals.

The Pilot Assist system supports the driver with steering, acceleration and braking on well-marked roads up to 80 MPH. Run-off Road Mitigation, Oncoming Lane Mitigation and other steering assistance systems are standard. The optional Cross Traffic Alert with autobrake further enhances safety. These and other proven safety technologies make the new V60 Cross Country one of the safest cars on the road.

Volvo Cars' Sensus Connect infotainment system is fully compatible with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and 4G, and keeps drivers connected regardless of whether they travel in urban areas or across the countryside. The intuitive tablet-style touchscreen control combines car functions, navigation, connected services and in-car entertainment apps.

(February 21, 2018) ROCKLEIGH, N.J. - Volvo Cars, the premium car maker, today revealed the new V60 five-door, mid-size premium wagon, underlining the Swedish company's position as a maker of cars that combine good looks with everyday practicality.

The car was launched in its natural habitat - the driveway of a family home in Stockholm - highlighting Volvo Cars' pedigree in family cars and pinpointing how the V60's versatile design caters to the diverse needs and realities of modern family life.

Few car makers can match Volvo Cars' history and credibility in making well-designed, practical and versatile wagons.

"The family estate driver is an important customer for our business and has been for generations," said Håkan Samuelsson, president and CEO of Volvo Cars. "The new V60 honors that tradition, but also takes it much further."

The new V60 shares Volvo Cars' Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) platform with the award-winning new XC60 and four top-of-the-line 90 Series cars, which have been the collective force behind the company's record-breaking global sales performance in recent years.

The SPA-based V60 introduces a luxurious interior, increased levels of space, advanced connectivity, plus Volvo Cars' latest driver support systems and other safety technology.

In a first for the segment, customers can access the new V60 via Volvo Cars' new premium subscription service Care by Volvo, which offers car access via a monthly flat-fee subscription rather than ownership. Care by Volvo makes having a car as transparent and easy as having a cell phone.

In the United States, the V60 will be available with T5 FWD, providing 250HP and T6 AWD powertrains providing 316HP.

The new V60 reinforces Volvo's standing as the industry leader in safety, with a comprehensive list of safety features that come as standard, including advanced driver support systems known from the 90 Series and XC60, making the new V60 one of the safest cars on the road.

The City Safety with Autobrake technology uses automatic braking and detection systems to assist the driver in avoiding potential collisions, and is the only system on the market to recognize pedestrians, cyclists and large animals. In a world first, City Safety now also engages autobraking to mitigate oncoming collisions.

The Pilot Assist system - which supports the driver with steering, acceleration and braking on well-marked roads up to 80 MPH - has been upgraded with improved cornering performance. The V60 also includes Run-off Road Mitigation, Oncoming Lane Mitigation and other steering assistance systems. The optional Cross Traffic Alert with autobrake further improves safety for people inside and outside the car.

Volvo's Sensus infotainment system is fully compatible with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and 4G, and keeps drivers connected at all times. The system is controlled via an intuitive tablet-style touch screen that combines car functions, navigation, connected services and entertainment apps.
